A Dhaka court has refrained Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader from performing any party activities regarding his party.

Judge Md Masudul Haque of Dhaka First Joint District Judge's Court on October 31 issued the order after former JP lawmaker and its adviser (expelled) Advocate Md Ziaul Haque Mridha filed a petition, seeking an injunction on the matter.

Ziaul Haque was relieved from the party on October 4, said in his plaint.

Ziaul Haque filed the petition with the court declaring his removal "illegal" by GM Quader. The former lawyer also filed an application, seeking a temporary injunction on him.

A copy of the court order was sent to Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury by Opposition Chief Whip Moshiur Rahman Ranga on Tuesday (November 1, 2022), said party sources.

According to the court order, GM Quader cannot take any decision of the party as long as the temporary ban is in force.

GM Quader was made chairman of Jatiya Party on April 6 of 2019 when HM Ershad was sick.
