Mirza Fakhrul admitted to hospital

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka this morning.

He was admitted to the hospital around 10:30am, Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP chairperson's media wing, confirmed the development to The Daily Star.

"The BNP secretary general fell ill while in jail. He felt sick after being released on bail, so the doctor advised that he be admitted to the hospital this morning," he said.

"Details will be revealed after his health check-up," he added.
