Police, BNP men clash at Khulna Railway Station

A clash broke out between police and BNP leaders and activists at Khulna Railway Station this afternoon (October 22, 2022).

The clash reportedly took place when police was obstructing those, who came to attend the public divisional rally of BNP in Khulna, reports our local correspondent.

According to eyewitnesses, BNP leaders and activists from different areas gathered on the railway station premises around 12pm. At that time, police tried to drive them away from the station, which triggered a clash.

Police also charged batons on the BNP leaders and activists to disperse them, eyewitnesses said.

Manik Sarkar, manager of Khulna Railway Station, told The Daily Star, "BNP leaders and activists hurled brickbats at the police."

"During the clash, Thai-glasses of doors, windows and main gate were vandalised. The clash lasted for about half an hour," he added.
