Mitali Express reaches Dhaka from India

Mitali Express, the third passenger train between Bangladesh and India, reached Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station last night (June 1, 2022).

The train reached at the station at 10:55pm with a total 12 passengers, Liton Dey, manager of the station confirmed to The Daily Star.

Officials and staffers of Bangladesh Railway welcomed the passengers with flowers at the station, he said.

Earlier in the day, the train was flagged off virtually from Rail Bhavan in New Delhi at 10:10am.

Rail Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, who is now in India and Indian Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw jointly flagged the train off.
