Paturia-Daulatdia ferry service resumes after 3.5hrs

Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia waterway resumed after remaining closed for nearly three and a half hours due to dense fog.

The ferry service resumed at 10:50 this morning, said Shah Md Khaled Newaz, deputy general manager of Aricha Regional Office of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), reports our Manikganj correspondent.

Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route were suspended from 7:30am today to avoid accidents on the waterway, said Newaz. "Later, the ferry service resumed at 10:50 am with caution as the fog subsided a bit."

Ferry services on the Aricha-Kazirhat waterway have also been suspended since 7:15am. It hasn't started yet," he said.
