Rail communications between Sylhet, Ctg restored

Rail communications between Sylhet and Chattogram resumed after one and a half hours of suspension following an engine failure of the Paharika Express train in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria this afternoon.

Around 6:30 pm, the stranded Paharika Express' engine was repaired, and it left Akhaura Station for Chattogram, said Akhaura Railway Junction Loco shed in-charge Md Monir Uddin, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent.

The train's engine broke down around 5:00 pm just before reaching the Akhaura Railway Junction Station, said Akhaura Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Alim Sikder.
