Fire at Muradpur sub-station in Ctg disrupts power

Electricity supply has been disrupted in different areas of Chattogram after a fire broke out at Muradpur 33/11 sub-station this evening.

Till the filing of this report, engineers were trying to fix power problems, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.

Muradpur sub-station Executive Engineer Md Mayen Uddin told The Daily Star, "Breakers of the power station got damaged after a fire broke out in the breaker zone of the power station, shutting down the electricity at around 3:15pm."

"On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame. Areas in Khulshi, Sholoshohor, Katalganj, and Muradpur faced power disruption," he said.

After dousing the blaze, the engineers have been trying to restore the power supply from 4:00pm, he added.
