Biman suspends 3 after wings of two Boeings damaged at Dhaka airport

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended three of its officials and staffers after the wings of two Boeing aircrafts were damaged at the airline's hanger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport recently.

They are principal engineer Harun-ur-Rashid, engineer Shah Haque Newaz and junior technical officer Nurul Alam, Biman's General Manager (Public Relations), Tahera Khondoker confirmed The Daily Star.

On July 3, two Biman aircrafts were damaged due to a collision between a Boeing 787 Dreamliner and a Boeing 737 aircraft.

After the Boeing 787 landed, it was taken to the hangar for regular maintenance. At that time, the Dreamliner crashed into the wing of the Boeing 737 while entering the hanger. The right wing of the Boeing 787 and left wing of Boeing 737 got damaged due to the accident.

Biman later formed a four-member investigation committee to investigate the incident.
