IndiGo starts flights on Dhaka-Mumbai route

IndiGo, the largest private airline in India, started operating flights on Dhaka-Mumbai-Dhaka route from yesterday (October 30, 2022).

Carrying 177 passengers, the maiden flight departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 2:35pm, sources at the HSIA, said.

The airlines, headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, will operate four flights on this route in a week.

On every Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, the flight will depart from Dhaka at 2:35pm.

From Mumbai, the flight will depart for Dhaka at 10:15am local time and will land at HSIA at 1:35pm local time, sources at IndiGo said.

Roundtrip airfare on this route will start from Tk 24,000 while the one way fare will start from Tk 15,000.

IndiGo is also the largest individual Asian low-cost carrier in terms of  fleet size and passengers.

The airline operates 1,800 daily flights to 96 destinations -- which includes 71 domestic and 25 international as it is shown in the website of the airline. IndiGo has more than 50% market share in the Indian Domestic market.

Before the Dhaka-Mumbai route, IndiGo had been flying passengers directly to Chennai, Kolkata, and New Delhi.
