4 Bangladeshis killed in Qatar road crash

Four Bangladeshi expatriates were killed and two injured in a road accident in Qatar on Friday, according to the sources at Bangladesh embassy there.

Two people died on the spot when the expatriates' car lost control and hit another private car from behind on Al Shamal Road at 5:00am local time.

Two others succumbed to their injuries at the Doha Hamad Hospital yesterday.

Among the deceased, Mohammad Shakil and Mohammad Yusuf Matbbar were from Narayanganj, Mohammad Rahat from Moulvibazar and Mohammad Sirajul Islam from Brahmanbaria.

Rahat's body was buried at Abu Hamour Cemetery in Qatar yesterday.

The bodies of Shakil, Yusuf and Sirajul have been kept at Doha's Hamad General Hospital morgue.

Seriously-injured Mohammad Jamal Uddin and Habibur Rahman Apu are undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Both the injured hailed from Narayanganj.

Charge d'Affaires of Bangladesh Embassy Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman said initiatives are being taken to send the three bodies to their families in Bangladesh soon after completing the necessary formalities.
