Bangladeshi expatriates in France have gathered in Paris to protest Sohel Rana's murder.

This is the largest Bangladeshi protest march ever held in France.

Protests and a rally began on Sunday, June 5, 2022, from the Place de la Bastille in Paris, where Sohel Rana was stabbed. The Republic Square was the final stop. NRBs of various professions were present at the protest. Immigrants from other countries also joined the protest.

The slogan of the protestors was "Justice for Sohel's Murder". The rally demanded that those responsible for the murder of Sohel be brought to justice and that the administration take appropriate steps to prevent such attacks in future.

"Miscreants attack expatriates often," protestors said. "Today, we are all gathered in one place, and we are able to inform the Paris police that one of our brothers has been murdered, and they need to expedite the investigation in order to ensure a fair trial."

The protestors also demanded that the French authorities take steps to legalise the status of Sohel Rana's wife and child.

Sohel Rana died on May 25, 2022 after being hospitalised for four days. He was beaten and later stabbed by miscreants on his way home from work on May 21, 2022 morning.

Sohel, hailing from Khidirpur village in Munshiganj's Sirajdikhan upazila, had been living in Paris with his wife and child. He worked at a restaurant in Paris' Bastille.
