Youth Policy Forum’s '2020 Budget Dialogue' starts today

To do a deep dive into the 2020 national budget, Youth Policy Forum (YPF) has organised the "The 2020 Budget Dialogue" – a by sector expert analysis spanning three weeks, starting from today.

The national budget is always the centre of high voltage policy discussions every year, and this time around it will determine Bangladesh's capacity to fight back against a pandemic that has crippled economies around the world.

In the lead up to the budget announcement, policy teams will analyse five broad sectors - healthcare, agriculture and food security, social protection, energy and infrastructure, and education and employment – before presenting their findings to industry-specific experts for their insights. These presentations will pave the way for the June special webinars where the teams' recommendations will be shared with leading economists and politicians.

The YPF 2020 Budget Dialogue is supported by knowledge partners Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and LightCastle Partners, as well as by media partner The Daily Star. Renowned economist Dr Sajjad Zohir has conducted a preliminary guidance session to orient the policy teams in the right direction.

To participate in the session and listen to the webinars, join the YPF Facebook group and page. The schedule is provided below:
