BNP yet to secure nod for rally

BNP has not yet secured permission to hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, Dhaka, tomorrow to press for immediate release of party Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

BNP is prepared to hold the rally, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said today.

“We are still hopeful for getting the permission from the concerned authorities,” Rizvi said while addressing a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.

Public Works Department has already informed BNP that it will have no objection if Dhaka Metropolitan Police allows BNP to hold the rally at the Suhrawardy Udyan, Rizvi said.
