Recovered from Covid-19, 27 Cumilla policemen on the way to donate plasma in Dhaka

Twenty-seven police personnel who recovered from Covid-19 infections in Cumilla have started for Dhaka to donate plasma for treatment of severely ill coronavirus patients.

They started for Dhaka's Central Police Hospital by a bus around 12pm today, our local correspondent reports.

Before that, a meeting was held at Cumilla Police Lines where Superintendent of Cumilla Police, Syed Nurul Islam, expressed hope that plasma donation by the police personnel will help the severely ill Covid-19 patients fight against the disease.

Additional superintendents of police Ajimul Ahsan and Tanvir Salehin were also present at the meeting.

According to office of the superintendent of police, 186 police personnel of the district police tested positive for coronavirus so far. Of them, 74 have recovered from the disease while 27 of the recovered personnel have tested positive for Covid-19 antibodies.
