50% votes cast at poll centre in Siddhirganj in over 5hrs

Fifty percent votes were cast till 1:30pm at a poll centre in Siddhirganj during the Narayanganj City Corporation election today.

While visiting Jalkuri West Government Primary School centre this noon, our reporter noted according to reading of five booths at the centre around 1:15pm, 48 percent of total votes were cast.

Presiding Officer Samiul R Farabi said there had been a large voter turnout since this morning. Initially, the elderly voters were facing problems with matching their fingerprints. Young voters cast their votes within a short time.

"We hope more than 70 percent votes will be cast at this centre," added Farabi.
