Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim has gone up five places in the ICC rankings after the latest ranking updates were carried out.

The Tigers' Test skipper had a torrid time captaining the team in the recently concluded Test- series. However, he withstood the pressure by playing two good knocks in the first two ODIs against South Africa. His current position is 18th in the latest ICC ODI rankings for batsmen.

While Bangladesh lost both matches, Mushfiqur however thrived under pressure when he struck an unbeaten 110 to catapault Bangladesh total to 278. In the second ODI, Mushfiqur struck a resilient 60 before he fell.

Bangladesh's star opener Tamim Iqbal is still on 16th and his position remains unchanged. Rubel Hossain climbed seven places to 61st position after his four-wicket haul in the second ODI against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez, who has been reported for suspect action during the third ODI agaist Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi, edged out Shakib AL Hasan from the top spot in the ODI all-rounder rankings.

AB de Villiers's smashing 176 off just 104 deliveries against Bangladesh took him past Virat Kohli and David Warner and into the top-spot.

In ODI team rankings, South Africa and India are both on 120 points. South Africa will accumulate 121 points if they accomplish a 3-0 whitewash of Bangladesh in the ODI series. India can however leapfrog them into top spot if they win the first ODI against New Zealand.

In Test rankings, Bangladesh can go up by one position to eighth place under interesting circumstances. While the Tiger's will not be playing any more Test matches till January however, Zimbabwe-West Indies series can have a say on Tigers' ranking.

If Zimbabwe and West Indies draw the two-Test series 1-1 then Tigers will move to eighth from ninth position.

Both Bangladesh and West Indies are currently on 72 points but Tigers will go above the West Indies in the rankings in case of a draw.
