The Bangladesh Cricket Board today announced the Bangladesh A squad for the first four-day match against India at Cox's Bazaar with national team Test stars such as Mominul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Shoriful Islam in the squad among others. Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Ground 2 in Cox's Bazar will play host to the first four-day against India A while the second four-day will be played at Sylhet.

BCB officials had previously stated that they were willing to play red-ball format cricketers in the A side during India A's tour to help the national stars prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series against India senior team, slated to begin from December 14 at Chattogram.

The first four-dayer between Bangladesh A and India A will be held from November 29 till December 2, just two days before the ODI series against India at Mirpur on December 4. Najmul Hossain is the only player from the ODI squad BCB announced yesterday, who has been named in the Bangladesh A squad first four-day fixture against India A.

It is understood that the selectors took the decision since Shanto has not featured in red-ball format adequately in recent times.

Test openers Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Shadman Islam along with spinners Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan has also been included in the side led by Mohammad Mithun. Khaled Ahmed will spearhead the pace attack with Shoriful, Shumon Khan and Rejaur Rahman Raja in the 14-member squad.

Jamie Siddons will be in charge of the A team, according to BCB sources. The Australian is expected to be with the A team until the end of the A team's series before he joins the national team during the Test series against India.

Bangladesh ODI side will begin preparations under head coach Russell Domingo from November 28 while Shakib Al Hasan, Nurul Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman are expected to join later after being granted NOC by the BCB till November 30.

India A arrived in Bangladesh today and reached Chattogram. The side led by Abhimanyu Easwaran have also included India Test players Cheteshwar Pujara and Umesh Yadav in the 16-member squad for the second four-dayer to be held from December 6 till December 9.
