Ireland applied themselves to the task at hand as Harry Tector along with Lorcan Tucker knuckled down with a 42-run stand for the sixth wicket at lunch to give their side a platform to set Bangladesh a target on the third day of the one-off Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Tector hit five fours and a six for his 43, while Tucker put away four boundaries as he remained unbeaten on 24 to take Ireland to 93 for five, still trailing by 66 runs after the end of the first session of play.

PJ Moor was the only wicket to fall for Ireland in the session. The right-handed batter managed to thwart away most of what the Bangladesh bowlers offered but couldn't help himself when Shoriful presented him with a short, and wide delivery to which the right-handed batter threw his arms out only to nick it to the keeper.  Moor hit three boundaries for his 78-ball 16.
