With the help of UEFA Assist programme -- which was formed to provide football confederations with knowledge-sharing and development opportunities -- the local game's governing body had before held a tournament titled: UEFA Assist U-16 tournament in 2019. This time, they bought a vehicle for the booters under the UEFA Assist Infrastructure Project 2021-22. UEFA provided 43,000 euros (approximately BDT 40 lakh) and BFF provided 10,000 takas to buy the bus.

"This bus will be used to carry the boys and girls of BFF Elite Academies to their training venues as the boys are used to arriving at the BFF House for gym while the girls are used to traveling to the Kamalapur Stadium to do their practice sessions. So, the vehicle will help them a lot," said the BFF vice president, Ataur Rahman Manik, during the inauguration of the bus at the BFF premises today.

Echoing the same sentiment of Manik, BFF and FIFA member Mahfuza Akther Kiron said UEFA do such type of work across the globe and courtesy of UEFA Assist, the budding footballers will now travel with ease to their respective practice venues instead of waiting for the rented vehicles.

The BFF officials also thanked the UEFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for such a gift for the booters.
