Bangladesh included wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan in the squad for the T20I series against Afghanistan yesterday after Mushfiqur Rahim suffered a hand injury.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin informed members of the media on Wednesday night that Nurul was added to the squad as a precautionary measure.

Mushfiqur injured his right hand thumb during the net session on Wednesday.

BCB sources had informed yesterday afternoon that Mushfiqur's injury situation will be under observation but there was no real doubt over his participation in the first T20I today. Mushfiqur's scan did not reveal anything major.

"There was a scan and nothing major was found. He did have some pain but nothing major came out in the scan," BCB physician Monzur Hossain told The Daily Star on Wednesday night.

Despite the scare, Mushfiqur is expected to play the first T20I tomorrow. The first T20I is slated to begin at 3:00 PM today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
