Liton Das and Majmul Hossain Shanto picked up the pace after Bangladesh made a cautious start to the second ODI against Ireland in Sylhet on Sunday.

Liton brought up his half century and got caught out for 70 off 71 deliveries before Shanto brought up his third half-century in this format. Bangladesh reached 52 for two in 28 overs.

Tamim Iqbal was the first wicket to fall, the Bangladesh skipper becoming a victim to Mark Adair's direct throw on an ill-judged single. He scored 23.

Bangladesh lead the three-match series 1-0 following a record 183-run win in the first ODI. There are forecasts of rain in Sylhet later in the day.
