Persistent rain puts third day's play in doubt

Persistent light rain has kept the start of the third day of the Mirpur Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan on hold.

Earlier in the morning, the match referee Neeyamur Rashid has asked the two teams to stay in hotel.

The day's play was scheduled to begin at 9:30am today, 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time, to make up for the time lost yesterday.

And the weather forecast for the day, with the impact of cyclone Jawad, is not looking promising at the moment.   

The visitors, who lead the two-match Test series 1-0, courtesy of a eight-wicket win in the first Test at Chattogram, piled up 188 for two in 63.2 overs in the first two days of play, riding on two unbeaten half-centuries from Azhar Ali and skipper Babar Azam.
