Metro Rail: Festivities vs Reality

The much-anticipated Dhaka Metro Rail, though finally running, does lack in some areas. Affordable ticket prices and many modern facilities are needed in order to make the Metro Rail useful for all. Above all, this megaproject has to be used as a guideline for town-planning. And to do this, the existing issues must be addressed. Dr. Md. Shamsul Hoque, a professor of civil engineering at BUET, has pointed out 10 problem areas of the Metro Rail while speaking to The Daily Star Opinion.
