Curtain call

What a spectacular fifth year

Dear Reader,

Hard to believe, but the month's almost done. And what a Ramadan it has been! The first one out of lockdown since the pandemic hit, it's not been an easy one, with the traffic and the heat, and the cholera scare. But at Talespeople, it's been one long lit party every night, from midnight until dawn. My first shout out is for Tarin, Ariz and Usraat, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the Sehri Tales engine running.

This year, we saw our members double in number within the first week of Sehri Tales season. In addition to Talers writing in from the USA and Australia, we've received submissions from Canada, the UK, New Zealand, and of course, our friends from Bridge the Nations, Pakistan. There have been as many entries in Bangla as there have been in English, and art submissions have also doubled. It's truly amazing to see how much love and energy is poured into this challenge. A big thank you to everyone who participated, whether you wrote in, cheered your friends on, or spread the word about us.  It's also been our pleasure to work with our generous sponsors. The Bookworm, Zest Candle Co and Cake o Clock have been truly open-handed with their prizes for our milestone prompts. A big shout to Star Youth for once again being the best media partners we could have asked for.

Finally, dear reader, it's been a pleasure and a privilege bringing our stories to you. We hope you enjoyed them. Till next year, stay hydrated, and Eid Mubarak!
