Milestone College – an educational institution par excellence

A quality educational institution, Milestone College is located in Uttara Model Town. Milestone College started its journey with a vision to excel in the year 2002, and in a very short span, in 2008, the Dhaka Education Board had already recognised the institution as one of the best the city had to offer.

With top notch facilities, candidates have the opportunity to study according to the National Curriculum from playgroup/nursery all the way to Class 12, in Bangla and English versions.

Additionally, it is also considered as one of the largest English version schools in the country.

Milestone College was founded by The MNRS Trust founder, Principal Colonel Nurun Nabi (Retd.), who is also well-recognised as founding principal of the renowned Rajuk Uttara Model College. Colonel Nurun Nabi served as the principal of Jhenidah and Faujdarhat Cadet College as well.

After serving several years as principal of the college after its establishment, he is now an advisor to the board.

An analysis of the past and recent results of Milestone College shows that it has been placed top of the merit list 13 times – with a 100 percent pass rate with the highest number of students.

Milestone College boasts an amazing record of consistent success. Analysing the latest results, the organisation's Bengali medium and English version showed that in 2021, 2878 examinees from this institution participated in the HSC examinations and achieved GPA 5 with 100 percent pass rates, setting an exceptional record for the institution.

Recently published in 2022, achievements in the SSC examinations were also outstanding, where the pass rate was 99.82 percent and the percentage to receive GPA 5 among them was 74.58.

Milestone College is run by an academic board of 450 experienced, dynamic and proficient individuals. Mamtaz Begum, Chairman of MNRS Trust, is serving as the Chairman of the institution. Professor Md Shahidul Islam, former Principal of Barisal and Mirzapur Cadet Colleges, is currently serving as the principal.

Overseeing the permanent campus is Mohammad Ziaul Alam. Rifat Alam is the Principal of the school branch, and working as a Director of Administration is the young dreamer, Masud Alam.

The academic board believes that quality teachers are needed to provide quality education. To this end, regular training is provided to the teachers here. Regardless of the institution from which the teachers completed their education or have previously practised their teaching profession, at Milestone College they are taught the institution's practices and policies.

Various other aspects, such as a teacher's behaviour and fairness, are also included in the training.

In addition to the Uttara Model Town campus, the school holds 25 bighas of land in the Metro Rail station-adjacent area in Diyabari on which its permanent campus stands.

There are fully digitalised classrooms, modern computer labs with internet facilities and libraries that are practical and rich with resources. Round-the-clock medical care, clean drinking water, and improved sanitation system have turned Milestone College into a unique campus over time. In addition to achieving the best results academically, Milestone College is also great at displaying their capabilities in extra-curricular activities. Debate, science fairs, quiz competitions, recitals, music, cricket, football, handball and photography is practised throughout the year in their clubs. One unique aspect of the extra-curricular activities at Milestone College is the month-long sports competition that is held at the end of each academic year. It gives the students the opportunity to develop their latent talents alongside their physiological growth.

According to the institute's Vice-Principal, one of the ways to do well in the version is by properly being able to gather the information that is taught by the skilled teachers who have a good grasp of the subject.
