Google Hangouts to officially shut down
Toggle Desk
Google, the world's most popular search engine, has announced that it will be showing an in-app prompt to users who still use Google Hangouts to switch to Chat in Gmail or the Chat app.
The tech giants mentioned that the in-app prompt will allow the remaining users to migrate to the Chat app as Google continues to work towards officially shutting down Google Hangouts later in November.
Users who communicate through the Hangouts app will be asked to move to Chat in Gmail or install the Chat application, according to the blog post.
Google Chat will offer users to have an integrated experience in Google Workspace. Users can edit Docs, Sheets or Slides with side-by-side editing, thereby allowing conversations to include collaborative options.
