Twitter threatens Meta with lawsuit over hiring former employees

Twitter threatens Meta with lawsuit over hiring former employees.

Twitter, the popular microblogging platform, threatened Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, with a lawsuit a few hours after the launch of Threads - an app many believe to be Meta's replacement for Twitter.

As per a report by Reuters, a letter was sent to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, by Twitter's lawyer Alex Spiro, in which Spiro accused Meta of hiring former Twitter employees who might be sharing highly confidential information regarding Twitter to Meta.

In the letter, Spiro detailed that Twitter "intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights", and demands Meta to take immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets. As a response, in a Threads post, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said that no one in the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee.
