The DITF: A fair of opportunities

The DITF: A fair of opportunities

It would hardly be an exaggeration to say that the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) represents the consistent progress Bangladesh has been making in the realm of commerce and economy notwithstanding the illimitable political troubles. It offers the local traders and manufacturers, as stated in the official fair website (http://www.ditf-epb.gov.bd/), a unique opportunity to showcase  their products and produces before an audience which is comprised of both Bangladeshi and international citizens. At the same time, interested manufacturers and business houses from abroad are presented with the chance to assessing potential of their products in a fast expanding Bangladeshi market. An often ignored dimension of the DITF is that it allows international manufacturers and traders the precious privilege of getting acquainted with their rivals and it is of unquestionable importance to the entrepreneurs of our growing industrial sector.
While the DITF shares much commonality with a many renowned international trade fairs, the former has something that makes it a relatively more special occasion, and that is the wide spectrum of products which are put on exhibition. A large fraction of the regularly held trade fairs are mono-industry oriented. The AAPEX fair, for instance, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, is for automotive aftermarket products. Similarly, the German fair Caravan Salon is held to exhibit mobile phones. Another esteemed fair that is held in Germany is Hannover fair showcasing industrial technologies. Canton fair, on the other hand, held in Guangzhou, China, is dedicated to a conglomeration of consumer and industry products. Our neighboring India organizes a grand and ceremonious event called the India International Trade Fair or IITF every year, giving manufacturers and traders of a very broad range a priceless opportunity to exhibit respective products and expand their business.
As mentioned earlier, it can be said with certainty that in the DITF much of the success and progress in the economic and commerce sector is manifested. It can act as an efficient stimulus in promoting and rejuvenating participations in industrial expansion. The interaction between local and foreign manufacturers would undoubtedly produce salutary effects on our product quality and market strategy techniques. We wish the DITF a grand success!
