3 injured as CU BCL men clash over sitting on Shuttle Train

Three people were injured in a clash between two factions of Chhatra League following a heated argument over who will sit where on the Shuttle Train around 10:00pm last night at Chittagong University (CU).

The clash took place in front of Suhrawardy Hall of CU between Versity Express and Sixty Nine Group.

The injured students were identified as Md Mamun, a third year student of Islamic History and Culture, Md Manik, a fourth student of Accounting, and Shah Poran, a masters student from Department of Botany.

The trio received primary treatment from CU Medical Centre. Later, Shah Poran was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Iqbal Hossen from Sixty Nine Group told The Daily Star that juniors scuffled over sitting at Shuttle Train on its way back to CU from Chattogram city.

"We requested police and proctor to take actions in regard to the incident. Hopefully it will be resolved," he said.

Police officials could not be reached for comments.
