Dhaka University Teachers' Association polls: Nizamul new president, Zeenat secretary

Pro-Awami League 'Blue' panel, won a landslide victory in the Dhaka University Teachers' Association (Duta) elections held today.

Professor Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan of Institute of Nutrition and Food Science was elected president and Prof Zeenat Huda of Sociology Department elected general secretary.

The 'Blue' panel got 14 posts out of the 15-member committee while the BNP- Jamaat backed 'White' panel secured only one.

Meanwhile, Professor Mohammad Lutfor Rahman of Statistics department was elected vice president from 'White' panel.

Prof Nizamul Hoque was the general secretary of the previous committee.
