JU admission test to begin tomorrow

The first-year honours admission test at Jahangirnagar University (JU) for academic year 2021-22 will begin tomorrow (July 31, 2022).

A total of 2,84,606 candidates will sit for the entry tests against 1,888 seats this year, reports our JU correspondent quoting Deputy Registrar (Education) Abu Hasan, member secretary of the admission test conducting committee.

Around 151 students will vie for each seat, he said.

He added that they have taken all out measures to conduct the admission tests smoothly.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, the admission test schedule was announced in a notification signed by Mohammad Mohiuddin, acting director of the university's public relations department.

According to the notification, the admission test of Faculty of Arts and Humanities under 'Gha' Unit and Bangabandhu Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture will be held on Sunday (July 31, 2022). In this unit, a total of 53,430 students sit for the test against 466 seats.

The following day (August 1, 2022), the admission test of the Faculty of Sociology and Law under 'Kha' unit will be held. The number of seats in this unit is 386. 48,348 candidates registered for the test.

The admission test of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and Institute of Information Technology under 'Ka' unit will be held on Tuesday (August 2, 2022). The examination of the rest of the admission-seekers of this unit will be held in the first phase (9am to 10 am) on the morning of August 3. Total seats in 'Ka' unit are 466. 76,379 candidates will participate in the entry test.

The admission test of Biology faculty under 'Gha' unit will be held on Wednesday (August 3, 2022). The next day (August 4, 2022) the remaining students of this unit will be held in the first, second and third phases. Around 87,728 aspirants will take part in the test.

The admission test of Faculty of Business Studies and Institute of Business Administration (IBA-JU) under 'Uma' unit will be held from the fourth phase on August 4, 2022. Around 18,721 candidates will participate in the test against 250 seats.
