Bangladesh Police theatre to stage 'Avishopto August’ from today

The Bangladesh Police theater is set to present the play "Avishopto August" for its 125th performance at Bhola District Shilpakala Auditorium today.

The play's storyline revolves around the tragic assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the fateful day of August 15, 1975.

Penned and directed by Md Zahidur Rahman, an Inspector within the Bangladesh Police, the play delves into the poignant events surrounding the untimely demise of the revered leader.

Over the course of the last two years, "Avishopto August" has been brought to life in theatrical form across 39 different districts. This enduring production serves as a means to commemorate the historical significance of the lamentable incident and to pay homage to the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The play has already been staged in Dhaka, Sayedpur, Rangpur, Kurigram, Mymensingh, Chuadanga and Kishoreganj this month.

There will be two more staging of the play on August 28th and August 29th, in Narail and Faridpur District.
