8-month-old drowns in floodwater in Lalmonirhat

An eight-month-old drowned in floodwater at Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat today.

Alifa Akter was sleeping with her mother this morning and suddenly the baby fell in floodwater while the mother was asleep, our Lalmonirhat correspondent reports quoting Atiar Rahman, chairman of Gaddimari Union Parishad in the upazila.

Later, waking from her sleep, the mother found the baby floating in the floodwater that entered their house from Teesta River, the UP chairman said.
