“Kajol is my warmest, closest friend”… Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are Bollywood's most loved on-screen pair and the superstar, who is teaming with the actress for “Dilwale”, hopes they can recreate their magic for the Rohit Shetty film.
“It is very exciting to be back with Kajol. I haven't had the time to thank her for being a part of the film. We will hopefully start the film in June.
It is good to work with Rohit,” said Shah Rukh. The 49-year-old actor and Kajol have starred together in “Baazigar”, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”, “Karan Arjun”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, and were last seen together on-screen in Karan Johar's “My Name Is Khan” in 2010.
“It is always exciting to work with her. She is my warmest, closest friend. We have done really nice cinema together. I hope we can recreate that for Dilwale as well,” he added.
Shah Rukh has just wrapped up Maneesh Sharma's “Fan”. The actor is playing a double role in the film; one of a superstar and the other of a fan. The actor, however, says that the story of “Fan” is more than just superstardom and being on the other side of it. “'Fan' is a very different story. I am not sure how much I can divulge. I have finished it.
It is very interesting. I think it has an amazing teaching. It shows us that somewhere down the line, to achieve what you have accomplished in life you need to find your own identity,” he said, adding, “I think that is the greatest message I can give through the film. It was very tiring but extremely satisfying.”
