Deepika in “Fault in our Stars” adaptation

Deepika Padukone

“The Fault in Our Stars”, originally a bestselling book written by John Green in 2012 was adapted into an English film by the same name in 2014. The English film, about a young cancer patient girl forced by her parents to attend a support group, where she subsequently meets and falls in love with a young boy who has also suffered from cancer, went onto becoming a big grosser at the box office.

While the story will remain more or less the same, the Hindi adaptation, directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan, will use humour to deal with the heavy subject. TNN reports that one of the top industry heroines, Deepika Padukone, has given her consent to be a part of the film, directed by one of her closest friends. Deepika will finish promoting Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project “Bajirao Mastani” this year's end, and then get on to shooting “The Fault In Our Stars” adaptation, which is expected to release sometime next year.
