Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt look street-smart in 'Gully Boy'

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are set to share screen space for the first time in Zoya Akhtar's musical drama, Gully Boy. Ranveer plays the role of an underdog rapper from the streets of Mumbai who becomes a big name in home-grown rap and Hip Hop in the film.  Recently, director Zoya Akhtar released a teaser of Gully Boy, which had no dialogues and the scenes were set to the rap song Asli Hip Hop voiced by Ranveer. Going by the quick moving snippets, viewers can understand that Ranveer's character faces resistance from his family and society to fulfil his dream. But he does get what he aims for in the end. Stars including Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar have praised the teaser, showing their support for the cast and crew of the film on social media.

Besides Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz, Amruta Subhash and Vijay Verma. Gully Boy will open in cinemas on February 14.
