Sonam steady through ups and down
Sonam Kapoor's career graph has witnessed quite a few hits and flops ever since the actor joined Bollywood in 2007, but the 30-year-old is known for keeping her composure through rough times. “One has to accept that ups and downs are a part of life. As long as there are people who think I am good enough to work with them, I am happy. I'd be worried and unhappy if there were no filmmakers who wanted to work with me. But right now, I'm getting to work with great people and in great films,” she says.
“In the last couple of years, things changed for the better, especially after “Raanjhanaa” (2013). And, it has been a slow yet steady game since,” she adds. Elaborating on the highs and lows, the daughter of veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor says, “After 'Raanjhanaa', 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' did so well. Alright, 'Bewakoofiyaan' didn't do too well, but 'Khoobsurat' did extremely well. Hopefully, two of my upcoming films will do well too.”
And just like her dad, Sonam wants to try her luck in Hollywood, too. There was buzz that she auditioned for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise back in 2013. She has followed it up with more. “I am auditioning for a few international projects. I can talk about them only when they think I am good enough, and finalise me,” she says, and adds, “That's how my career in Bollywood also started. I was born with a silver spoon, but I auditioned a lot and worked hard. That's how I got my first film, 'Saawariya', in 2007. I have worked really hard to get my career going.”
