Though she's just 17 years of age, Parsa Evana knows quite well to exhibit rhythm and expressions through the art of dancing. She won the gold medal for Bharatanatyam at a national-level competition organised by Bangladesh Shishu Academy, and hasn't stopped.  She is also the winner of Channel I “Shera Nachiye,” in 2014. Today, besides being a serious dance practitioner, she is exploring the world of acting as well.

“When I was young, I did a lot of extracurricular activities, but for some reason I was more fascinated with dancing. The beat of music of Bharatanatyam was magnetic for me. It felt as if I was meant for dancing and nothing else,” she said.

“I have been dancing for 10 years; my life with dance started with BAFA, then with Wasif and I learnt more of different forms of dancing at Shadhona. Being a part of Shadhona has been a rewarding experience for me. There, we always have to offer different forms of dancing. It was just not Bharatanatyam that I have danced but also Jazz, contemporary, ballet and many more.”

“My mother is always encouraging. She is the reason that I am here now. She is always by my side, be it dancing or acting.

“I've only recently started to act. When you are a dancer, it is easier to act because you already know the expressions. But I cannot compare these two because acting is way harder than dancing. When you are an actor, you have to be different characters at different times. And to be those characters and to remember the dialogues it is a handful. I salute those who have been acting for such a long time,” (smiles).

“So far, I have done four serials and plenty of single-episode dramas. Everyone craves fame; who would not want be under the spotlight? But a person should never give up their passion. Just because I act does not mean my love for dancing is gone. I will keep on dancing till I can.”
