Mahiya Mahi's 'pobitro Bhalobasha'

Ever since her cinematic debut, Mahiya Mahi has garnered immense popularity with her remarkable performances on the silver screen. One of the several films she is currently working on is titled Obotar.  Recently, her film 'Pobitro Bhalobasha' saw a countrywide theatrical release. She talks about her latest projects and more in a conversation with The Daily Star.

How would you describe your latest film, Pobitro Bhalobasha?

Pobitro Bhalobasha is the kind of film people would love to watch with their friends and family. From romance to tragedy, the film has got all the entertaining elements one can think of. I am looking forward to watching it in the cinema hall, just so I can observe the spontaneous reactions of the viewers!

What is your process for choosing a film?

First and foremost, the script and the director are the most important factors for me when it comes to choosing a film. I also take my co-stars into consideration because for me, it is essential to get along with the people I work with.

In terms of your film career, what are some things you hope to achieve?

I think I have been very lucky as I have achieved certain things in my career without really expecting it. So, right now, all I want to concentrate on is working hard and doing quality work.

You also own a fashion house, tell us about that.

Vaara is my newest venture, where I will be working with people of the underserved sectors of our country. I hope to empower underprivileged workers and seamstresses through the fashion house.
