Alpana Habib launches cookbook
It was a childhood dream come true for Alpana Habib when she launched her long-awaited cook book - Alpana's Cooking on May 13. The event was hosted by Zara and Naveed Mahbub, and they brought unbound joy and laughter to the night. The panel of speakers starred an ensemble of eminent women in Bangladesh such as Tasmima Hossain, Editor of Ananya Magazine; Sadya Afreen Mallick, Chief of Cultural Initiatives, The Daily Star; Nilufar Farooq, Managing Director of Ikebana; and most importantly, Alpana Habib's mother Dr. Afzalun Nessa. The chief guest of the night was actor and MP Asaduzzaman Noor, hon'ble Minister of Cultural Affairs.
“My passion for cooking started when my father fell ill, and all I wanted to do was prepare the best meals for him,” says Habib.
The 550 page cook book is available both in Bangla and English. Alapana Habib kept her diverse YouTube subscribers in mind and mentioned that this easy-to-prepare cookbook was her legacy.
Priced at Tk 2,500, this book is meant to not only broaden one's cooking horizons, but also act as the much needed modern collection of Bangladeshi cuisine.
