Batighar's painting competition for rural children
A painting competition for underprivileged rural children was organised at Rusulpur in Gafargaon upazila on Sunday.
The event was organised by Amader Batighar, marking the inaugural ceremony of Ganochaytonya Unnayan Pathaghar.
Amader Batighar, is a local initiative to build the reading habit among the younger generation with a view to creating future leadership.
Some 200 students of Rasulpur Govt Primary School, Rasulpur High School and Rangler Kiron Dey College took part in the painting competition in three groups.
The activities of Amader Batighar would be extended in and outside Gafargaon and the country as well, said the organisers.
The local clubs including Language Club will be included in the activities, they shared. Earlier, Professor Mohit Ul Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University addressed the inaugural session as chief guest.
Professor Afzal Rahman, chief executive of Amader Batighar addressed the ceremony, among others.
