Celebrating Monsoon

Apart from the environmental aspects of Monsoon, it plays a vital role in shaping our cultural legacy. Hence, every year it is welcomed with an assortment of arrangements across Bangladesh. Rain has a somewhat sacred association, due to its ability to revitalize all livelihoods. A programme titled Borsha Mongol 1425 was held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's National Music and Dance Auditorium recently, which was organised by Protisrishti. A significant variety of artistes were scheduled for the event which started with a dance presentation from Spondon, followed by a welcome speech by Protisrishti's chairperson Shahriar Salam. Later the guests lit pradips (lamps) to greet the festival. Other speakers included Fazilatun Nesa, widow of late chairman of Protisrishti Shubho Rahman, President of Sommilito Sangskritik Jote Golam Kuddus and more. The occasion continued with captivating dance performances by various troupes, solo poetry recitations, Rabindra sangeet, Nazrul sangeet, and folk songs by the entertaining artistes from their respective fields. The event concluded with the national anthem and was dedicated to the late chairman of Protisrishti, Shubho Rahman.
