IGCC holds “Fragrance of Souls” at BNM
Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC)organised an evening of audio-visual play and songs titled “Fragrance of Souls” by cultural group “Paikpara's Impression” from Kolkata led by Satinath Mukhopadhyay and Sharmila Bandyopadhyay recently at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Dhaka.
“Paikpara's Impression” is a cultural organisation from Kolkata which makes research-based audio-visual musical plays. Satinath Mukhopdhyay, an eminent elocutionist, TV, host and news caster, was the audio director and lead actor, and Sharmila Bandyopadhyay, an eminent elocutionist is the director, actress and head of the organisation.
“Fragrance of Souls” started with “Jani Nai Tho Tumi Eley” with visual projection. Performances by Satinath Mukhopadhyay, Bimal Konar and Sharmila Bandopadhyay followed.
Sanjit Basu performed songs like “Dao Hey Hridoy Bhorey Aponar”, “Aruno Kanti Ke Go”, “Amar Aponar Cheye”. Sumana Chatterjee rendered “Tomar Kachhey Phagun”, “Jokhon Somoy Thomke Daraye” and Sudip Basu sang “Ma Go Bhabna Keno”, “Diye Genu Basanter Ei Gaan” and “Ekusher Roddur” (with visual projection).
Evoking the memories of Language Movement of 1952 in a dramatic presentation, Satinath Mukhopadhyay and Sharmila Bandopadhyay presented “Dehri Bompass” with visual projection.
