A three-day Lalon Memorial Festival was held at Lalon Academy Secondary school ground under Moheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah district, where the shrine of Siraj Shahi lies. The festival ended yesterday.

At the inaugural ceremony, Deputy Commissioner DC Mahbub Alam Talukdar of Jhenidah was present as chief guest. Jhenidah sadar mayor Saidul Karim Minto; Colonel Md. Sadikul Bari, principal of Jhenidah Cadet College and Harionakundo upazila UNO Monira Parvin were also present.

The chief discussant was Prof. Dr. Anisuzzaman, Lalon researcher and professor department of Philosophy of Dhaka university. 

Hundreds of Lalon devotees and audience thronged at the shrine and enjoyed Lalon songs and discussions.

On the concluding day on Monday Md. Shah Alamgir, General Director of Bangladesh Press Institute Dhaka was present as chief guest while the chief discussant was Professor Dr. Anwarul Karim, vice chancellor of Dhaka Northern University.

Lalon devotee Akbor Sai said they are happy to participate in the annual programme, where they could pay tribute to their spiritual leader.
