Lalon festival held in Manikganj

Manikganj Achin Pakhi Lalon Sangathan, an association dedicated to Lalon’s work organised a Lalon festival in Manikganj on November 4, 2018 at the martyred freedom fighters’ memorial premises. Manikganj Achin Pakhi Lalon Sangathan has been organising this festival annually for the past seven years to spread Lalon’s philosophies amongst people.

The festival began with a discussion on Lalon’s life and philosophies by Golam Mohiuddin, Chairman of Manikganj District Council; S M Bahrain Haque Waeysi, representative of Shah Abdur Rahim Waeysi, Darbar Sharif; Aminul Haque Akbar, Editor of Daily Al Azan; Nazim Master, Director of Manikganj Achin Pakhi Lalon Sangathan; Basudev Saha, Director of Dapsasur Sangeet Academy; and Dilip Rajbangshi, an adviser of Manikganj Achin Pakhi Lalon Sangathan.

Nizam Baul from Kushtia, Dulal Baul from Rajshahi, Nazim Master of Manikganj Achin Pakhi Lalon Sangathan, Sabrina Momtaj Momo, along with Bangladesh television enlisted artistes and local artistes including Sohana Baul and Alif Baul performed Lalon’s songs during the festival.
