Razzaq, Kabori celebrated in Mymensingh
Big names of the Bangladeshi silver screen, Razzaq -- popularly known as Nayak Raj -- and Kabori were celebrated in Mymensingh on Friday, for their mesmerizing performance in romantic and melodious songs in different films.
Sandipon Sangskritik Sangstha, a leading cultural group of the town organised the event titled “Chokh Je Moner Kotha Bole” at Zila Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
The melodious performance of artistes entertained the audience, especially the elders, with nostalgia. They encouraged the artistes with rounds of applause.
Chayan Sen, the leading artiste of the group, directed the musical soiree.
Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh Md Khalilur Rahman, police superintendent Syed Nurul Islam and deputy director of Local Government Md Nurul Alam were present, among others as guests.
At regular intervals of the event, the guests spoke at the event. They said songs of golden age are still a valuable asset of our tradition and culture. But due to lack of proper preservation and publicising, these songs and the legends are mostly unfamiliar with the young generation.
Sandipon's director Mahbub Hossain Sharif delivered the welcome speech while Sajal Quraishy anchored it.
