Living works of Art
Bonsai, the ancient Chinese art of miniaturising mammoth trees to fit in living rooms, has its share of practitioners in Dhaka, despite the lack of patronage. Bonsai artist KM Sabuj's second solo exhibition was held at the WVA Auditorium in Dhanmondi (Road 27) from May 6-8.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor opened the exhibition, while noted artist Hashem Khan was present at the ceremony too.
About 300 plants of some 80 varieties were on display at the three-day exhibition, with some of the works in a landscape format including mosques, temples, mountains and springs, houses and schools as part of the Bonsai piece.
