UNIQUE CHESS SETS exhibited in the city
From Bangladesh to Azerbaijan, bronze to plastic, jute doll to lego, chess sets of all shapes and sizes were exhibited at the hall of Gyantapas Abdur Razzaq Bidyapeeth on October 5. With the aim of popularising chess, Chess Collectors Bangladesh (CCB) and Abdur Razzaq Chess Academy (ARCA) organised this unique exhibition.
As a part of Gyantapos Abdur Razzaq Chess Festival, chess sets were on display for the public. A three-player chess set and the lego set specifically attracted a lot of attention. Collectors Farial Ahmed, Golam Morshed Tushan, Ahnaf, Muntasir Ibn Mohsin exhibited their collections. They collected their beautiful chess sets from Bangladesh, China, America, Azerbaijan, England, Turkey, Vietnam, Poland, Pakistan, India, Spain, Thailand, Dubai and Nepal. Chess sets with popular animated characters from Doraemon and Despicable Me were also exhibited.
Alongside the exhibition, a Blitz Tournament was held, conducted by chess grandmaster Niaz Murshed. The winners were handed prizes and certificates by the Director General of Gyantapas Abdur Razzaq Bidyapeeth, Dr Ahrar Ahmad.
