Apurbo's film journey begins with “Gangster Returns”

Apurbo is a popular face on the small screen. Now he will acquire even more visibility as his debut film “Gangster Returns” releases today in around  50 theatres in Dhaka and across the country.

Ashikur Rahman has  directed the film that also features Jannatul Pia, Shampa Hasnine and many others. It narrates the story of an ordinary young man who will become a gangster one day after the murder of his father. Apurbo plays the title role.

“I'm very hopeful about the movie's success.” Apurbo told The Daily Star. Audiences are used to seeing Apurbo playing romantic roles in TV plays but now they will see a new side of the actor.

“As I love to watch action and horror movies, I always wanted to act in such films. Finally, I have had the opportunity to do so,” said the actor.

Meanwhile, Apurbo is now being feted by the media as he gets busy with the film's promotion.

Apart from this, he will visit different theatres in Dhaka and other parts of the country for its promotion. He also plans to watch the film at cinema halls with viewers.

Asked why people should go to theatres to watch the film, the actor replied that they will turn out because it has a strong plot.

The film that features six music tracks was shot in Dhaka, Cox's Bazar and Sonargaon. Apurbo  playbacked for two numbers.

On November 25 just before the film's release, a  get-together of the  cast and media was held at a city hotel.
