Happy birthday, Purnima!
Today marks the birthday of Purnima, who started her film career in 1998, with director Zakir Hossain Raju's "E Jibon Tomar Amar." Since then, she has gone from strength to strength, mesmerising audiences with her versatility on the silver screen. The National Film Award-winning artiste gave a standout performance as the protagonist in Chashi Nazrul Islam's "Shubha", opposite Shakib Khan. The film is based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore.
On the other hand, Riaz and Purnima, a beloved on-screen pair, worked together in successful romantic movies such as "Moner Majhe Tumi" and "Hridoyer Kotha".
In addition to films, Purnima has earned acclaim with her television ventures, such as the mega serial, "Laal Neel Beguni", directed by actor Zahid Hasan. She is also a successful model and television anchor.
"I am not celebrating in a big way this year, since we are battling a health crisis. On my birthday, I hope for better days, and good health for everyone. I am overwhelmed with the love I have received from my fans and well-wishers," says Purnima.
Currently, she is awaiting the release of her films, "Jam" and "Gangchil". She is also set to star in Amitabh Reza Chowdhury's web film, "Munshigiri", for Chorki.
